Mock Live Class: Unpacking the Principal–Agent Conflict: Using Economic Tools to Improve Organizational Performance with Professor Vlad Dolgopolov
Step into the virtual classroom with Professor Vlad Dolgopolov for a lively, thought-provoking mock session from a core micro economics course within Gies online graduate programs. In this live session, we’ll explore the “principal–agent conflict”—a common but often hidden tension between company owners (principals) and managers (agents) whose incentives don’t always align.
Through real-world examples—from the Wells Fargo fake accounts scandal to everyday situations in real estate, healthcare, and politics—you’ll see how misaligned incentives can shape decisions, impact performance, and even harm those the organization is meant to serve. We’ll also discuss how smart incentive design can reduce these conflicts and boost organizational success.
See firsthand how Gies connects theory to practice in ways that are relevant, engaging, and immediately applicable.
